Our aspirations for geographers:

At St. Peter’s, we want our children to enjoy and look forward to their Geography lessons, as they develop their understanding of the world that we live in. We aim to inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. Teaching will enable children to explain how, and why, places around the world are similar/different. Furthermore, children will have a good re-call of key knowledge, e.g. continents, oceans, major cities, etc. Children will be confident using a range of different maps (atlas’, OS maps and ones they have drawn themselves) to locate key human and physical features. Across the school, teaching will allow children to take part in fieldwork, where they can make observations for themselves and explain what they have observed/ found out.
