My father’s side of the family are Italian, so I enjoy European and World football where I back the Azzure, much to my husband’s despair! I enjoy spending time with my friends, cooking, reading books (usually only in the summer!), going to the cinema, singing in the car with my daughter (with the windows up) and shopping!
No two days are the same working in a school and children can always teach us something new too!
Mrs. Swinfield, Deputy Head, EYFS teacher, RE Coordinator, Warwick University Professional Mentor
I have been teaching for around 25 years and have been privileged to work at St. Peter’s for a good number of those; first as a class teacher and in more recent years as Deputy Head. I currently teach Early Years Foundation Stage, which I find extremely rewarding.
I have 3 children, all of whom attended St. Peter’s – how time flies!
I am a member of St. Peter’s Parish and think the partnership between school and parish is very important. I enjoy walking with my husband, reading, gardening, playing the piano, sewing and getting away on holiday!
Mrs. Piggott, EYFS teacher, Arts D/T Coordinator
I have been a teacher for over 25 years and have enjoyed working at St. Peter’s since 2005.

Mrs. Weston, Year 1 teacher, Music Coordinator, KS1 Phonics
I have been working in KS1 at St. Peter’s for 5 years and have been part of the Year 1 job share for 3 years.
When not at St. Peter’s I support my husband who is Vicar at St. John’s, Hinckley and help with children’s and youth work at the church. I have 2 children and enjoy films, walking the dog and will always have a book on the go.
Mrs. Fraser, Year 2 teacher, Maths Coordinator
Mrs. Curry, Year 3 teacher, Science Coordinator
Miss Geary, Year 4 teacher, English Coordinator
After undertaking an English degree and PGCE in Leicester, I started work at St Peter’s in 2009 in year 6 as a newly qualified teacher. After three years, I moved to teach year 4. I am the English subject coordinator and also manage the school library.
In my spare time, I enjoy going to gigs and seeing my favourite bands playing. I like a range of music but my passion is for ska and punk music. I love meeting up with friends and going out for meals or heading out on spontaneous day trips.
Recently, I have found a passion for gardening, trying to grow my own food to eat. So far I have successfully grown: corn, tomatoes, leeks, sprouting broccoli, runner beans and strawberries. I have also planted fruit bushes which I’m hoping will provide fruit for the first time this year.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am obsessed with Tatty Teddy, Koalas and the colour pink. I’m a little quirky, but that’s how I like it! Being ‘normal’ is boring!

In my spare time I enjoy playing games with my two grandchildren. I like going away on holidays with my husband, our favourite destination is Mexico.

I have worked at St. Peter’s for more than 10 years. Prior to this I volunteered in all year groups from listening to readers to being a prompt at school plays.
I work in Early Years Foundation Stage but have spent time in Years 1, 2 and 3. I enjoy my job very much as no two days are ever the same.
In my spare time I love reading and doing jigsaws. One of my ambitions is to cruise down the Panama Canal!
Mrs. Barber, Infants
I was born and have lived in Leicestershire all of my life, I am married with one daughter aged 15. I enjoy going to the theatre and all things connected to drama, going for long walks and the occasional run if I have the energy!
Prior to working in school I spent 20 years in the IT sector in a variety of roles including computer programming which then progressed into management. I started at St. Peter’s in 2008 as a Teaching Assistant. I currently plan and teach KS1 Computing, using my IT experience, which I feel passionate about. I also have experience of working with children who have special needs and currently run nurture groups for both KS1 and KS2 where we focus on developing a variety of social skills through fun activities.
Mrs. R. Green, Infants
I have been part of St. Peter’s school for seventeen years. The number of years is proof that I have been part of a great working team and I enjoy all the aspects of our daily school life (well, almost!!)
Both of my children were pupils here and now they are ‘grown up’ I find I have extra time for going on long walks, visiting new places and watching films & dramas.
Mrs. Smith, Infants
Mrs. Conant, KS2 & Midday Supervisor
Mrs. Booker, Juniors
I have worked at St Peter’s School for 12 years as a Teaching Assistant and throughout my time I have been lucky enough to work in every year group, I have also had a spell working in the School office.
For the next academic year 2017/18 I will be the Teaching Assistant in Year 6. I have had experience in this year group previously working there for over five years. I also have an additional role as the ‘ELSA’ for the school. ELSA stands for Emotional Literacy Support Assistant and this is a pastoral role with the ultimate aim to help students feel happy and enjoy their time at St Peter’s. I provide additional support to students who experience some difficulties on an emotional level with, for instance, making friends; initiating conversations with others; low self-esteem; managing and understanding their feelings. This usually takes the form of one/two sessions per week in the afternoons, so as to have minimal impact on the core curriculum subjects, where the pupil has a chance to talk and express how they are feeling with planned activities running alongside.
I am very happy to speak to any parents who have any concerns regarding their child’s emotional wellbeing at school and can be contacted through the school office on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.
Mrs. S. Barker, Juniors
Mrs. Hobbs, Juniors
I have been at St. Peter’s for eleven and a half year now and very much enjoy working with the children and staff.
I enjoy cycling and walking in my spare time.
Mrs. Lynch, Juniors
I started work at St. Peter’s in 2007 and spent my first four years working one-to-one with children. Since then I have worked in KS2 supporting children in a variety of ways (e.g. supporting Individual Education Plans, small group work etc.) with the aim of helping them to achieve small targets and make progress. I enjoy the challenge of finding different ways to help the children understand something they are struggling with.
My main hobby outside of school is running a Brownie unit. I have enjoyed this for over 30 years as a leader, taking them on day trips and holidays. It is great fun but extremely tiring when they refuse to go to sleep!
